They record how the site is used, not who you are, and we do not use them to identify you. Two things switch them off, and both are in your hands rather than ours: your browser’s own cookie settings, and Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on, which stops Google Analytics on every site you visit.

In practice, one cookie is set by this site, and only when you submit a form. Sending an enquiry starts a short-lived session cookie named PHPSESSID, holding a single word that records which form you sent - nothing about you, and none of what you typed. Its only job is to let the confirmation page tell a genuine submission apart from someone simply opening that page’s address. It is set no earlier than the moment you press send, read once and discarded on the confirmation page, and it expires when you close your browser. Browse the site without sending anything and we set no cookie at all.

If you visited this site before and saw a cookie notice, your answer to it may still be sitting in your own browser’s local storage under hw_cookie_choice. That notice has been removed and nothing reads the value any more. It never left your device, and clearing this site’s data in your browser removes it.
